According to Page Six, British actor Jack Barton has emerged as a reported contender to take over as 007, with sources claiming he currently sits at the top of the pile ahead of upcoming screen tests.⁠

Barton has appeared in Heartstopper, SAS: Rogue Heroes and Poor Things, but remains a relatively unfamiliar face compared with some of the other names reportedly being considered.⁠

Page Six reports that Jack Lowden, Callum Turner, Jacob Elordi, Paul Mescal and Harris Dickinson are also expected to screen test, with testing reportedly due to begin in early September.⁠
