The climate lawsuit case in Norway’s Supreme Court is now being decided. ⁣
⁣
Nature and Youth (naturogungdom) together with greenpeacenorge won in the district court and in the appellate court.⁣
⁣
In June 2023, they sued the government for having approved three oil and gas fields without having assessed their global climate impacts and the enormous consequences for nature, climate and human life.⁣
⁣
Now Greenpeace and Nature and Youth have to fight in the Supreme Court - to force the state to follow the law. ⁣
⁣
It’s about time governments put the people before profits and make oil, coal and gas corporations pay their fair share for the damage they cause.⁣
