For Black Business Month, we are making a Deeper Bet on founders creating opportunity and redefining their industries.

Today, we are spotlighting Aalliyeh Clinton, MSE, founder and CEO of Monneah’s Engineered Materials (MEMs) and a Black Ambition alum.

MEMs is transforming PPE through sustainable, fashionable, and protective textiles, proving that safety does not have to come at the expense of style.

As Aalliyeh built her team, she leveraged the Maryland Technology Internship Program to help make early hiring more accessible. Today, her team of four supports content, operations, and accounting, giving Aalliyeh more space to focus on growing the business.

Her advice to founders: You do not have to go it alone. Look for local and regional programs that can help you build your team and ease the cost of early hires.
