On Wednesday, the Cincinnati Reds placed third baseman Eugenio Suárez on waivers, and teams across the league will have 48 hours to claim him. Toronto has an advantage as it has waiver priority due to its losing record.

Suárez famously terrorized the Blue Jays during the 2025 postseason when he was with the Seattle Mariners, hitting .308 with two home runs and seven RBIs in the seven-game ALCS.

If the Blue Jays decided to claim Suárez, they would only have to take on the remaining $3 million he’s owed this season.
