Officials say 384 tourists are reported missing, including 291 international visitors from countries such as the United States, Britain and Malaysia. Many are believed to have been traveling on a pilgrimage to Mount Kailash in Tibet. At least 28 police officers are also among those missing.

The flooding devastated communities, buried vehicles and buildings in mud and disrupted travel throughout parts of the Himalayan country.
