#TSRTrialWatch:The murder-for-hire trial of #LilDurk is officially underway in Los Angeles, and fellow rappers MGK, OTF Doodie Lo, Dreezy and G Herbo were at the courthouse to support. Prosecutors are alleging the rapper was driven by revenge following the 2020 death of his close friend, #KingVon.

Before the jury entered, Durk, dressed in a gray suit, was seen blowing a kiss to his wife #IndiaRoyale. During opening statements Monday, per latimes Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel Weiner told jurors that Durk allegedly orchestrated a hit targeting rapper Quando Rondo. Prosecutors say the alleged hit was connected to the killing of King Von and that the plan ultimately went wrong. Instead of Bowman, his cousin, 24-year-old Saviay’a Robinson, was fatally shot during an ambush near the Beverly Center in Los Angeles in 2022.

“This is a case about revenge, stalking and pre-meditated murder,” Weiner told jurors, arguing that the alleged hit involved Durk’s “beef,” money and associates. Durk’s attorney, Marissa Goldberg, strongly disputed the prosecution’s claims, pointing the finger at Kavon Grant, a former personal assistant to Durk who has pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with the government. _________________________
Goldberg alleged that Grant was the mastermind behind the plot and handled key details, including booking hotels, securing vehicles and purchasing ski masks ahead of the shooting. “Mr. Banks had nothing to do with it,” Goldberg told jurors, maintaining that Durk was not present and had no connection to the shooting.

Durk is on trial alongside David Lindsey and Deondre Wilson, who are also accused in the case and have denied the charges.
