Eric Bischoff says MJF is one of the only wrestlers today who genuinely lives his character.

Speaking on 83 Weeks, Bischoff said what wrestling calls living the gimmick is method acting under another name, and that only a handful of performers have committed to it. He named Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Steve Austin and The Undertaker.

Bischoff distinguished between an audience booing because it genuinely dislikes someone and an audience booing because it understands that is its role. He said most heels get the second kind, and that MJF gets the first.

Bischoff said MJF "lives it," and contrasted that with wrestlers who play a character on television and then undo it on social media. He declined to name anyone, saying he did not want the heat.

He has made the same criticism of WWE for years, saying the company generates large volumes of that manufactured reaction, that it can be created and controlled for television, and that it works financially but not to the level real heat would.

On Flair, Bischoff said the commitment runs so deep that he is not sure Flair remembers who Richard Fliehr was, and framed it as a compliment.

Bischoff said MJF has things to learn and a long way to go, but a bright future because he is committed to the character.
