These incredible archival images offer a glimpse into the history of Notting Hill Carnival and the people who helped shape it into the event we know today. 

These images featured in The Legacy of Notting Hill Carnival exhibition at somersethouse, telling Carnival's story through photography, film, sound, sculpture, costume and archival material spanning six decades. 

The Legacy of Notting Hill Carnival was made possible with support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
