For 40 years, Richard Gallien coached some of Southern California’s best, but his greatest impact was never measured in wins or rankings. It was in the people he helped shape.

From Pepperdine to USC to Cal State LA, Richard led with empathy, kindness and an unwavering belief in his players. Now retired, he reflects on a life in tennis that gave so much to the game, and gave even more to the people around him.
