Andrea Oleson had two pieces of pie on her plate: a small slice of cookie butter pie next to a wedge of banana cream.

“I just went, ‘Oh, I need to marry these and they need to have a pie baby,’” she says, laughing.

And so begat the Cookie Butter Banana Cream Pie.

Little did she know her pie baby would be an award winner — the award winner, in fact, for the best cream pie in Iowa.
