## Caption

We hope you get the point of this video of a very sharp print because August 24th is apparently National Knife Day! For today, Channey letterpress printed one of the stranger items from the Lewis Winter Collection. This electrotype (copy of a woodcut) depicts a man wearing a large apron and holding a very large knife while standing next to a table. On the table is a round food dish containing the word “PRICES.” This cut was made in the 1890s and it was likely used in publications to illustrate cutting prices. This was printed with green rubber base ink using our Washington hand press, which was made in 1852. #SacHistoryMuseum #knife #museumtok #sactiktok #printing
