During a July city council meeting, Chetek Police Chief Ron Ambrozaitis slammed critics of the city’s Flock cameras, saying, “I ought to do background checks on half the people that make comments.”

Ambrozaitis, who was accused by a constituent of improperly installing the surveillance cameras without city approval, denied any wrongdoing and said the only time the data was accessed was during a demonstration.

The city later deactivated its social media pages, citing threats against city officials related to the Flock cameras.
