Golden Tempo has been getting plenty of attention in the Cherie DeVaux barn, but the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes-winning trainer has another 3-year-old star in the form of ENGLISHMAN 🔥 After blazing his way to the top of the sprint division with his record-equaling victory in the GI Woody Stephens Stakes at Saratoga last time out, the son of Maxfield returns Saturday in the GI H. Allen Jerkens Memorial Stakes.

Englishman was awarded a 115 Beyer Speed Figure for his Woody Stephens performance, the highest number earned by any horse in a race at a mile or less in 2026.

Back in Kentucky, his dam In It for the Gold resides at Chanteclair Farm in Versailles, Kentucky ✨ Owned by Country Life Farm partners, the 12-year-old mare had a Tiz the Law colt this year and has been bred back to Into Mischief for 2027.

Her son Englishman is already a Grade I winner, with three wins and a second from four career starts, and looks poised to collect another elite level success on Saturday.
