AMERICA(!) THE BEAUTIFUL(?) artist spotlight: Xiuhtezcatl (xiuhtezcatl), a Xochimilca recording artist and activist whose work connects climate justice, youth leadership, and cultural storytelling. Come to The Ford (thefordla) in Los Angeles on October 3 for a night of performance, resistance, and solidarity!

Growing up between Colorado and his Indigenous homelands in Xochilmilco, Mexico, Xiuhtezcatl began his advocacy at the age of six, gaining international recognition for environmental justice. Alongside his activism, Xiuhtezcatl has authored the books “We Rise” and “Imaginary Borders” and his leadership has been recognized by TIME (time) and Rolling Stone (rollingstone).

Xiuhtezcatl extends his advocacy work into music, blending hip-hop, indie, and Latin influences with lyrics in English, Spanish, and Náhuatl. Now based in Los Angeles, he continues to create music and compose for film and television while advancing Indigenous perspectives in global conversations.
