Latto surprises the students of PS 369 in the Bronx, New York City with an unforgettable rap class celebrating creativity, confidence, self-expression, and the power of telling your own story. This episode of Celebrity Substitute gives students an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to become a rapper, from freestyle and songwriting to filming their very own music video.

First, Latto teaches the students the art of freestyle rap, challenging them to think on their feet, find their flow, and turn their ideas into rhymes. Then, the class gets personal as Latto helps the students write original raps dedicated to the “Big Mamas” in their lives, celebrating the mothers, grandmothers, and special women who have shaped who they are.

The lesson culminates in a special music video for a remix of Latto’s song “Mama,” filmed alongside the students at their school in the Bronx. Together, Latto and the kids bring their lyrics to life, turning the classroom into a recording studio and the school into their own music video set. It’s a celebration of family, individuality, and finding your voice, proving that everyone has a story worth putting into a song.
