For decades, RAS was one of cancer research’s most frustrating targets.

Researchers knew it was helping drive some of the deadliest cancers.

They just struggled to drug it.

That story is changing.

The FDA has approved Rasonque, daraxonrasib, a first in class targeted therapy for previously treated metastatic pancreatic cancer.

In its Phase 3 trial, median overall survival was 13.2 months compared with 6.7 months with chemotherapy.

Nearly double.

This is not a cure. But for a cancer as aggressive and difficult to treat as pancreatic cancer, that difference matters enormously.

And the implications may reach further.

RAS mutations are found across multiple cancers, including lung and colorectal tumors.

A biological target once considered largely undruggable is becoming druggable.

That is how medicine advances.

Not always through one miraculous leap, but by turning yesterday’s impossibilities into tomorrow’s treatment options.
