🚨 LIVE tomorrow, August 31st! 🚨

On episode #439 of Dave Tate’s Table Talk Podcast, Dave sits down with Mark Uptegraff.

Mark Uptegraff II is the Director of Football Strength & Conditioning at Fordham University in the Bronx. A North Carolina native and former all-state offensive lineman, he walked on at UNC before an L4–S1 laminectomy ended his playing career in 2018 and launched his coaching one. He earned his degree in Exercise & Sport Science at UNC and a master’s at Virginia Tech, then built a fast-rising college career: Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Head Strength Coach at Division-III Wittenberg (all 23 sports), Boston College football and human-performance analytics, and Northern Illinois, where he specialized in return-to-play and post-surgical rehab.

In this episode, Dave and Mark get into training athletes holistically, “bucketing” athletes to individualize development, and the real difference-maker in preventing joint and soft-tissue injuries and accelerating return to play. They also dig into conjugate methods in the football weight room, the SS Yoke Bar, Hatfield split squats, max-effort and dynamic-effort work, and what a rebuilt spine taught him about training the person in front of him. Certifications: SCCC, CSCS, FRCms, FRSC, FRA, USAW.
