Before the injuries started interrupting his momentum, Nico Collins was playing like one of the best receivers in football

The beginning of that 2024 season was ridiculous. Through his first five games, Collins had already piled up 567 receiving yards, including three games over 100 yards. He wasn’t just putting up numbers either. He was consistently winning downfield, bullying corners at the catch point and turning routine completions into huge gains.

At 6’4”, Collins has the size you want from a true WR1, but what separates him is how smoothly he moves for someone that big. He can stretch the field vertically, win through contact, create after the catch and give his quarterback a massive target when the coverage gets tight.

For that stretch, defenses knew where the ball was going and still struggled to stop it. Then the hamstring injury hit, and suddenly one of the hottest starts by any receiver that year got interrupted. That’s probably why people forget just how dominant Nico looked before he went down.

When healthy, I don’t think calling him a top-tier receiver is crazy at all. The talent has been there. The production has been there. The biggest question has simply been whether he can stay on the field long enough to sustain it for an entire season. Houston has a legitimate monster at WR1.

Where does a fully healthy Nico rank among NFL receivers: top 10, top 5, or even higher? 👀👇
