After Effects 2026 just changed how we animate multiple layers — and most people don’t know about it yet.

Proportional Scrubbing has landed in After Effects BETA, and it’s one of those features you didn’t know you needed until you try it.
Instead of applying the same value to every selected layer, it distributes changes proportionally based on selection order —

↳ First selected layer = 0% change
↳ Last selected layer = 100% change
↳ Everything in between = automatically distributed

That means cascades, spreads, and gradient-style animations that used to take minutes of manual tweaking now happen in a single drag.
No offset calculations. No repetitive adjustments. Just select your layers in order, hold the shortcut, and scrub.

Here’s how to use it:
① Select your layers in the order you want the distribution to flow (order matters)

② Hold your shortcut:
Mac → Cmd + Option
Windows → Ctrl + Alt

③ Scrub any selected property — watch the magic happen
This is the kind of update that quietly saves you hours. Try it on your next cascade animation and thank me later. 🔥
