A powerful moment for Chicago’s West Side.

On Friday, Malcolm X College officially named its West Campus Community Center after Congressman Danny K. Davis, a leader whose connection to this college goes back decades. 

Long before he was in Congress, Davis taught classes right here at Malcolm X College in the 1970s. Since then, he’s helped secure millions of dollars for our students, funding campus renovations, childcare, technology labs, and study abroad opportunities.

This building carries his name because of a relationship with this community that’s lasted a lifetime.
