The First Win | Muriwai, 1952

Bruce was just 15 when he won his first competitive event at the Muriwai Hill Climb in an Austin 7 Ulster rebuilt with his father, Les. It was the first sign of the determination, curiosity and maverick spirit that defined his life.

The Youngest Grand Prix Winner | 1959

At 22 years and 104 days old, Bruce became the youngest Formula 1 Grand Prix winner in history, taking victory at Sebring and announcing himself on the world stage.

Starting McLaren | 1963

Rather than wait for opportunity, Bruce created it. He founded Bruce McLaren Motor Racing Ltd in a small workshop, beginning a journey that would change motorsport forever.

The First McLaren Formula 1 Victory | 1968

Bruce drove the McLaren M7A to victory at Spa-Francorchamps, defeating Formula 1’s established powers and securing McLaren’s first World Championship Grand Prix victory.

Can-Am | 1967 to 1971

McLaren rewrote the record books with five consecutive Can-Am Constructors’ Championships. Bruce won the drivers’ title in 1967 and 1969, Denny Hulme in 1968 and 1970, and Peter Revson in 1971. The Papaya cars proved that McLaren never blends in.

The M6GT | 1969

Bruce’s vision was simple: “A civilised version of one of our racing cars.” The M6GT became the first McLaren road car, laying the foundations for everything that followed.
