AJ Dybantsa is one of the biggest young basketball stars to emerge from the high-school ranks. The 6-foot-9 forward played one season at BYU, where he averaged 25.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists and led the nation in scoring. He was a consensus First-Team All-American and won Big 12 Freshman of the Year before entering the 2026 NBA Draft. 

Dybantsa was ultimately selected No. 1 overall by the Washington Wizards, making him one of the most highly anticipated young players in the NBA. 

#LoeShimmy is a rapper and vocalist from Pompano Beach, Florida, known for his melodic delivery, distinctive raspy voice and laid-back style. He started releasing music commercially around 2020 and built a following through projects including Nardy World and Rockstar Junkie. His 2025 song “3am” with Don Toliver became his first Billboard Hot 100 entry. 

Shimmy has continued his momentum in 2026 with Pretty Girlz Run The World, featuring artists including Brent Faiyaz, Sexyy Red and Summer Walker. He has also been featured on Drake’s “HABIBTI,” further raising his profile outside Florida’s hip-hop scene. 

So AJ Dybantsa linking with Loe Shimmy is a pretty interesting crossover between the NBA’s newest No. 1 pick and one of South Florida’s rising rap stars.
