## Caption

A fun story from our race photographer anothermarksmith 

Asbjorn and I were driving down the road in McGrath, heading toward the Overland Trail to find Jon Richner. We wanted to snap some photos of him running into town.

We caught up to him just in time, but as we started taking pictures, the road sloped downhill—and Jon, immediately sees an opportunity, turned his sled - well into a sled - and took off!

Thinking fast, I jumped into the bed of the truck. “Go, Asbjorn, go!” He hit the gas, trying to get ahead of Jon. The wind rushed past me—until whoosh! my hat flew right off my head and landed on the road.

Jon’s eyes lit up. A new game! He steered over, scooped up my hat without slowing down, and tossed it back up to me in the truck like a pro.

And just like that, he kept sledding down the road, grinning the whole way. Definitely not the kind of photos  we expected, but way more fun!

As of writing Jon is on the trail just past Ophir.
