🥤🍨 A step back in time in South Pasadena!

Today I visited Fair Oaks Pharmacy & Soda Fountain, and what an amazing place. This South Pasadena landmark dates all the way back to 1915, more than a century of history and stepping inside really does feel like discovering a piece of the past.

And 1915 happens to be a pretty significant year for another reason! 🎬

While Universal Pictures traces its beginnings to 1912, 1915 was the year the Universal Studios lot opened in Universal City, California. So Fair Oaks Pharmacy and the Universal Studios lot share the same 1915 beginnings! A pretty cool Southern California history connection!

The classic soda fountain alone is worth the visit, but there’s nostalgia everywhere you look. And, of course, I managed to find one of my all-time favorites… E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial! 👽🚲🌕

I also had an incredible Coca-Cola Sundae, made with actual Coca-Cola flavoring. Absolutely delicious! 🍨🥤

I love places like this, pieces of Southern California history that are still here for us to experience more than a century later.

If you’re ever in South Pasadena, Fair Oaks Pharmacy & Soda Fountain is definitely worth a visit!
