Here it is, my big pants manifesto. I recorded this months ago: when I said "recently," I meant "at a Superbowl party." I should put more energy into editing, I suppose.

But if you want to see what I see:

1. Don't think about "baggy" but "relaxed." Your language affects your mindset. Some people use "baggy" to mean something good, but the connotation always seemed negative to me until some weird market analyst decided that relaxed fit pants were "the baggy fit trend" and everybody started repeating that.

2. Look through history. There are eras of slim and relaxed. The 70s are an anomaly because while we associate them with "bell bottoms," almost every cut was used within some subculture or another.

3. Consider culture, watch old movies, look at runway shows or brand lookbooks, come with a critical eye about complete aesthetics and the effect they have, rather than just wearing what all the other men in the office wear. Think for yourself. That doesn't mean liking what I tell you to like, just adopting a thoughtful process for developing your style. That's why I try to explain my thoughts; for you to learn to think as deeply.
