A mudslide has struck a port along the China-Nepal border in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, leaving three people dead and 558 missing, local authorities said Thursday.⁣

Two local villagers have been rescued, while rescue and relief operations are underway at Gyirong Port in Gyirong County.⁣

The mudslide, which occurred on the Nepalese side of the border on Wednesday, disrupted roads, communications and power supplies along the route to the port.⁣
