the Divine Farewell: When The San Siro Stood For Baggio: 
On 16 May 2004, Italian football icon Roberto Baggio played the final professional match of his legendary career at a sold-out San Siro stadium. Captaining Brescia against league champions AC Milan, the 37-year-old playmaker, famously known as Il Divin Codino (The Divine Ponytail), bid an emotional farewell to the sport.

The Match and the Standing Ovation While AC Milan won the final league match of the season 4–2, the scoreline was secondary to the historic tribute unfolding on the pitch.

The Departure: In the 84th minute, Brescia manager Gianni De Biasi substituted Baggio to allow the world to honor him.

The Ovation: All 80,000 supporters inside the Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro) rose to their feet, crossing club rivalries to deliver a thunderous, minutes-long standing ovation.The Embrace: Before crossing the touchline, Milan captain Paolo Maldini—Baggio's longtime teammate for the Italian national team and former club partner at Milan—walked over to embrace him.
