A coal mine with zero human drivers

Huaneng Yimin mine in Inner Mongolia replaced 1,200 drivers and 300 diesel trucks with 100 self driving electric trucks.

Each one runs on LiDAR, radar, and cameras for full 360 vision, even in sandstorms or total darkness. 

A private 5G network links every truck to a central AI dispatch system that plans routes, avoids collisions, and sends trucks to swap batteries in about 5 minutes.

Trucks run 22 hours a day down to minus 40 degrees. 

In 2020 they hit 87% of human efficiency. By 2024, 120%.

China's now scaling this to thousands of mines.
