China just built a car factory that produces a new car every 76 seconds.

It belongs to Xiaomi. Yes, the phone company. 

Four years ago they announced entering the car business. Everyone thought it was a joke.

Inside: 720,000 square meters, roughly 100 football fields. Over 700 robots assembling bodies, painting, installing doors. 

An AI system called X-Eye inspects every car with 99.9% accuracy, better than a human eye.

Paint switches colors in 40 minutes. Body assembly takes under 30 seconds. The factory runs through the night since robots don't need lights.

Result: a new car every 76 seconds, built from scratch in just 14 months. Xiaomi has delivered 600,000 cars since launch. Their latest model got 200,000 orders in 3 minutes.

Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, over 100 years of manufacturing. A phone company just outpaced them all.
