Russell Westbrook’s reputation has always been bigger than what happens on the basketball court.

The Rockets spent nearly two months at the Grand Floridian during the 2020 bubble, and Westbrook reportedly left the housekeepers an $8,000 tip on his way out. He also left his room virtually spotless, fitting for someone teammates and staff knew as a serious neat freak.

When asked about the tip, Westbrook kept it simple: “They took great care of us.” He said they put in the time and energy to do their jobs at a high level, and that doing the right thing was all that mattered to him.

A lot of people will remember Russ for the triple-doubles, the intensity and the MVP season. But stories like this are a reminder that there’s a completely different side of him that doesn’t always get talked about. ❤️
