You're not losing reps to competitors. You're losing them to your first two weeks.

Most new sales hires who quit don't leave because the job is too hard. They leave because nobody told them exactly what to do.

It feels like a recruiting problem. It's not. You hired someone capable, but you never mapped out their day-to-day activity in the first two weeks. So they're left guessing what "doing well" even looks like.

When reps don't know what success looks like on day 3 versus day 10, they assume they're failing. Most won't tell you that. They'll just quietly plan their exit instead.

This is a training and clarity problem, not a talent problem. Reps don't need more encouragement in week one. They need a clear list of what to do each day.

Write out exactly what a new rep should be doing, hour by hour, for their first 10 working days. Not general goals. Specific activities.
