In 2023, Pedro Martin @pedromartinbooks 
introduced the word to MEXIKID: A GRAPHIC MEMOIR, which was recognized with the Newbery Honor and the Pura Belpre Author and Illustrator Awards. 

Now, Pedro is back with MEXIKID DREAMS, and readers are once again transported back to the life of young Pedro. He hopes to follow his artistic dreams and leave behind the life of sharecropping in strawberry fields.
