LeBron James never played a single game for Ohio State, but his bond with the Buckeyes runs deeper than most guys who actually suited up there. He’s said for years he would’ve gone there if he’d played college ball, and it shows, honorary locker in the basketball facility, custom sneakers gifted to the teams, and a shoe wall dedicated to him at Value City Arena.

That relationship hit a new level too, Ohio State awarded him an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree, recognizing both his Ohio roots and the work his foundation’s done for Akron kids. Never took a single class there, but LeBron’s about as Buckeye as it gets.
