🧬 PNC-27: A Fascinating Area of Preclinical Cancer Research

PNC-27 is an experimental 32-amino-acid peptide derived in part from the p53 tumor-suppressor protein.

In published preclinical research, investigators have reported that PNC-27 can interact with HDM-2 associated with the membranes of certain cancer cells. This interaction has been associated experimentally with membrane-pore formation, membrane disruption and cancer-cell death. (PubMed)

Researchers have also reported differences between cancer cells and the normal/non-transformed cells examined in these experimental models. (PubMed)

The important distinction: these are preclinical findings.

PNC-27 has not been established as safe or effective for treating cancer in humans and is not an FDA-approved cancer treatment.

The science is interesting. The human evidence still needs to be established.
