On Tuesday August 25th the Hillsboro Hops kicked off their six game home series with the Tri-City Dust Devils with a solid 4-2 win at the Hillsboro Hops Ballpark. Jakey Josepha put the Hops on the board in the second inning after being walked, then stole second and stole third with an overthrown ball allowing him to stroll home for the first run on the evening. The Hops got their second run in the fourth off a pair of doubles with J.D. Dix leading off and Carlos Virahonda bringing Dix home with the second double. In the fifth, a pair of doubles again added a run on the board when Kenny Castillo led off with a double soon to be bought home by J.D. Dix on his second consecutive double on the night. After the Dust Devils scored a run in the sixth, the Hops responded with a run in the seventh courtesy of an Abdias De La Cruz solo home run over the left field wall. The Dust Devils picked up a run in the eighth to close out the scoring. The Hops defense was lead by the pitching dual of starter Patrick Ford and reliever Caden Grice who combined for eleven strikeouts, only two walks and six hits. #allhoppedup #hillsborohops #milb #baseball⚾ hillsborohops
