U14 Hornets 

This is our first u14 season at loganbasketballinc and it has been a great learning experience for the players, and for me as a coach. 

So much of their development at this level is mental and psychological , because physically they are still growing and their skills are at the beginning of their development process. 

With players sick , away or unavailable for many different reasons throughout the season, and the levels of our players ability very different from top to bottom, they have had to adapt , be resilient and battle through inconsistency, disappointment and (when everything clicks) , show they can have outstanding performances. 

Throughout it all , it has been a challenging, but very rewarding experience, and the boys have come a very long way on and off the court. 

Today was the final game of the regular season, and sat in 5th place , they needed to win , and also needed to score more points than the closest team. 

Amazingly the boys showed up , and they showed what they can do when they are all on the same page.  Taking the win and also putting up 83 points in the process , securing the finals spot. 🫡🫶

Well done boys ! 

As with our u16 Hornets, I asked the u14 boys to honour my friend Vance (RIP) and they rocked the Whanau jersey with pride.
