Gen Z are increasingly turning to fitness to socialise, make friends and even find relationships, with research finding they're four times more likely to want to meet someone through exercise than on a night out.⁠

And it's not just about finding a running mate. Nearly one in five Gen Z respondents said they'd actually been on a date with someone they met through exercise.⁠

Separate UK research paints a similar picture, with 15% of 18 to 29-year-olds saying they'd prefer to meet a potential partner at a gym or fitness group, compared with 13% who chose a bar or nightclub.⁠

Run clubs have become such a social phenomenon that Strava has even dubbed them the new “nightclubs”, as groups built around running continue to grow.⁠
