Words matter.

Language contains meaning.

And when someone says, “I’ll give you a chance,” understand what they’re actually telling you.

You automatically lost.

Because you’re not the favorite.

You’re not the first choice.

They’re settling for you.

Think about it.

If a woman was presented with the opportunity to date a multimillionaire who’s six feet tall, has a six-pack, is famous, charismatic, and looks like Drake…

She wouldn’t say:

“You know what? I’ll give him a chance.”

She’d say:

“Absolutely. I want him”

There’s no hesitation.

So when someone tells you, “I’ll give you a chance,” pay attention to the language.

They’re not choosing you.

They’re settling for you.

And here’s the uncomfortable part:

The reason you’re willing to accept being someone’s second choice is because you don’t respect yourself enough to walk away.

You’re desperate.

You’re lonely.

And you’d rather be chosen halfway than not chosen at all.

But the moment you become willing to walk away from anyone who sees you as an option…

You stop accepting crumbs.

You stop begging for validation.

And you start demanding relationships where the other person is saying:

“I choose you.”

Not:

“I’ll give you a chance.”
