austintexasgov City Council passed a $6.6 billion operating budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year at an Aug. 12 meeting. The $300 million increased budget goes into effect on Oct. 1 and includes an increase in property taxes and utility fees for homeowners, funding for programs such as parkland and pool maintenance and housing vouchers.
