#KewonWhite has been found guilty of capital murder in connection with the 2020 killing of Dallas rapper #MO3, whose real name was Melvin Noble. The judge sentenced White to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

White is the first of the three men to stand trial. He is accused of being the gunman who shot and killed Noble on Interstate 35 in Dallas in 2020. Prosecutors allege that another rapper, #YellaBeezy, whose real name is Markies Conway, hired White to commit the murder due to a long-standing feud between the two. Conway has pleaded not guilty to capital murder and has denied any involvement in the crime.

According to Dallas police Detective Eric Barnes, “It was planned, premeditated, and based on the evidence that we had from the highway and the hospital, the shooter was intent on killing him.” Barnes’ statement follows allegations that Noble’s fatal ambush shooting was orchestrated. However, the defense argues that the state proved murder, but not murder-for-hire. Noble was shot 13 times, and investigators recovered 44 cartridge casings. White is currently serving a sentence for an unrelated gun charge, and his trial is expected to last about two weeks.
