#TSRTrialWatch: #TSRUpdatez—On Friday, William Sullivan verbally declared a mistrial in the #LindsayClancy murder case after the jury failed to reach a verdict.

According to nbcnews, on Friday, after the jury sent a note stating they were still deadlocked, Judge Sullivan said, “I’m going to declare a mistrial at this point.”

However, quickly after Clancy’s lawyer, Kevin Reddington, said he wanted to appeal to a higher court, and the judge granted him one hour to do so.

NBC News notes that Reddington initially fought against a mistrial by seeking a final emergency appeal of the decision. However, Sullivan appeared against bringing the jury back on Saturday to continue deliberating if Reddington had won the appeal.

As previously reported, Clancy was charged with the first-degree murders of her three children in their Duxbury home on January 24, 2023.
