Andrade held nothing back about his WWE exit.

Speaking in Spanish with Latin Lover on his Luchando Por Tus Suenos YouTube show, Andrade covered the end of his WWE run, the non-compete fight, and how he landed back in AEW.

On his role in WWE:

"Mine wasn't story. It was giving the public a good match. The character didn't grow. I had no story."

"There are wrestlers WWE gives the opportunity to 20, 30 times."

On pitching creative alongside Los Garza:

"We gave ideas, with the Garzas too. And it was yes, then no. Then no."

On the claim that Mexican wrestlers miss out over English:

"Escobar speaks English very well. Why didn't he get the opportunity? That's an excuse. There was Brock Lesnar. He's a monster. He didn't talk. He had Paul Heyman to do it. When a company wants to support you, they support you."

On asking for his release:

"If you're not going to use me, leave me home. I don't want to be traveling just to come and wrestle."

On WWE proposing a move to AAA after the purchase:

"I want to be a WWE star, not a AAA star."

"All the Mexicans didn't want to come to AAA."

He declined to name anyone.

On the non-compete question when his release came:

"I asked, do I have a non-compete clause? I sent the message and everything. No answer. So I said, then I don't have one, and I had to work."

On signing with AEW:

"Two weeks later AEW calls me. Do you have a non-compete clause? I told them no... I negotiated it myself. I didn't want to bring in a lawyer. We closed it in four or five days."

On WWE then asserting a one-year non-compete after his AEW debut:

"I talked to several lawyers. Rush's lawyer was the one who convinced me most."

"It was September, October, November. About four months without being able to wrestle."

Andrade returns to Arena Mexico in Mexico City for the CMLL Aniversario on September 18, and appears for AEW with Dynamite airing Wednesdays at 8/7c on TBS and HBO Max, this week from Allen, Texas — tickets at AEWTix.com.
