🇺🇸 USATF has announced plans to bring the indoor national championships to the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds for two straight years in 2027 (Feb. 19-21) and  2028 (Feb. 19-21). The Indiana Sports Corp will serve as the local organizing committee.

2027 will mark the 40th anniversary of the inaugural World Indoor Championships, which were held at the Hoosier Dome in 1987.

The stakes will be higher in 2028 as athletes go for Team USA spots for the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Odisha, India, March 3-5, 2028.

Fall Creek Pavilion has recently hosted Big Ten Indoors, Hoosier State Relays, a long list of collegiate and high school meets, and the 2026 USATF Indoor Combined Events Championships.

USATF CEO Max Siegel: “We are excited to bring the USATF Indoor Championships back to Indianapolis for the next two years and, in doing so, return to a place that holds such an important place in our sport’s history. Indianapolis is home to USA Track & Field, so bringing our national indoor championship to our own backyard makes this especially meaningful for our organization. The first World Indoor Championships were held here in 1987, and the Indiana State Fairgrounds has continued to be a great home for track and field.”

Both national championships will be broadcast on NBC with live streaming on USATF.tv
