September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

When I got sober and surrendered my life to faith, God led me somewhere I never expected.

I started 100 in 90 — climbing Stone Mountain 100 times in 90 days to raise awareness and money for pediatric cancer research.

Fox News, CNN and ESPN shared the story. Hundreds of people traveled to Atlanta to climb with me. I met incredible kids and families who changed my life forever.

And during the second year, I met Shannon on that mountain.

Some of those kids are grown now, with careers and families of their own. Others beat cancer, but not here on Earth. I still think about them often.

This September, Go Gold.

Give your time. Your talents. Your energy. Just show up.

For the kids. Always.
