This wasn’t just a random band joining Ed Sheeran onstage.

Irish traditional band Beoga worked with Sheeran on the original recordings of both “Galway Girl” and “Nancy Mulligan” for his 2017 album ÷. “Galway Girl” even incorporates part of Beoga’s own tune “Minute 5.”

At MetLife, Ed brought Beoga out for both songs and kept them onstage for more of the set afterward. They’ve been joining him for several songs on the LOOP Tour, including “I Don’t Care,” “Old Phone,” “Camera,” and “Celestial.”

And if you want to hear them without 80,000 people around you, Beoga play NYC’s Mercury Lounge Sunday, September 6 at 5 p.m. mercuryloungeny
