Will Swinton performed “You’ll Always Be Mine” at the final stop of his North American headline tour in Brooklyn, just two days before the song officially dropped on Friday.

The Auckland-born artist’s path to this stage is kind of wild. He spent years working full time at a trampoline park in New Zealand and making songs in his bedroom after work before eventually selling his car, quitting his job and taking a chance on music. After a random encounter with Machine Gun Kelly at a bar in Idaho led to Will playing him his music backstage, he would eventually go on to open for MGK on his arena tour in Australia and New Zealand.

Now he has 100M+ streams, is signed to Capitol Records and just wrapped his own North American headline run.

I sat down with Will before the Brooklyn show to talk about that entire journey, the new music and what’s next.
