September 1st is World Letter Writing Day! This day encourages people worldwide to pick up a pen or pencil, grab a piece of stationery, and write a letter to someone. We have printed cards available in our museum store that will help with that!  For today, Channey letterpress printed an electrotype (copy of a woodcut) that was made in the 1930s and depicts a mail carrier with a large letter. The text below states,  “World Letter Writing Day” and was typeset in 30 point Engravers Old English font. This was printed with purple oil base ink using our Washington hand press. #SacHistoryMuseum #letterwriting #typography #museumtok #printing
