Jumping is considered one of the most physically demanding movements in sports like basketball and volleyball. It’s also one of the most under tracked.

PlayerData EDGE Air unit uses IMU (inertial measurement unit) to detect every jump an athlete makes during a practice or game and classifies them by estimated height into one of three bands: low, medium, and high.

And here’s the thing, with PlayerData, different intensity ranges can be set for each player, because everyone has different jumping abilities. A “high” jump for a 7 footer might actually be in the “medium” jump range for a 6’1 point guard. That’s an important difference to be able to track. Setting relative jump bands allows you to do it.

This gives programs the jump load data needed to help prevent injuries and develop explosive power all season long.
