After years toiling to find meaning (and pay-the-bills success) as songwriters for Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Bebe Rexha, and Calvin Harris (to name a few), thatgirlbuzz and @lanceshipp joined creative forces in 2024 to form @hauteandfreddy , a remarkably kooky, L.A.-based alt-pop duo. Now the two are marrying distinct ‘80s-synth sounds with infectiously eye-catching, circus-inspired costuming to reinvigorate dance clubs and win fans over at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands. (If the album cover of Panic! At the Disco’s A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out had a child with Allie X’s discography, it would be these two.) Their debut album, Big Disgrace, features anthemic bops like “Freaks,” “Dance the Pain Away,” “Fashion Over Function,” and “Shy Girl” (Lady Gaga is a fan). Their new single, “Touch Touch,” is out August 28.
