It’s a lot you can learn about life from this play 🔥 #bitstarz

The Cowboys keeping safety Alijah Clark on the initial roster makes a lot of sense when you look at the effort he brings on special teams. For players fighting for those final roster spots, it isn’t always about interceptions or making huge plays on defense. Sometimes it comes down to showing coaches you’re willing to do the dirty work every single snap.

Clark has been flying around on special teams and making the type of effort plays that coaching staffs notice. Sprinting downfield, fighting through blocks, staying disciplined in his lane, and finishing plays can be the difference between making the roster and getting released. Plays like this showed Dallas that Clark can contribute even when he isn’t getting regular defensive snaps.

That’s exactly how young defensive backs earn their place in the NFL. Clark might not have entered camp as one of the biggest names on the Cowboys roster, but special teams gave him an opportunity to separate himself. Now he’s on the initial roster, and that relentless effort clearly played a big part in earning his spot.
